All Mages fall into a class of magic, most of which have multiple sub classes. These are the ones known thus far:

ReQuip Mages
Requip mages are adept in quickly changing out weapons and armors from an alternate plane of existance to give themselves an edge in battle.

Stellar Spirit Mages
Stellar spirit mages connect to Spiritual plane and make contracts with familiars there. By reciting an incantation and utilyzing the corresponding key, they can summon the spirits that they have contracts with to aide them in battle.

Animation Mages

Animation Mages bring inanimate objects to life for a short time under their control. There are many variations of Animation Magic, but the end result is the same. Some utilize their own spirit or those wandering souls to 'animate' their objects and use them to assist them in combat. Others use their magic to bring objects into existence for a short time to serve their purposes.

Rune Mages

Rune mages come in all different forms. Some are masters of literature and weave complex magics together with stories and words. Others are masters of sealing and weave formulas to completely lock down an opponent. No matter the form they share a few common aspects. It takes time to form their spells and any user of Rune Magic can read another's runes, and potentially disarm it.

Artifact Mages

Artifact Mages are some of the most common mages there are. They create the various items both magical and standard that are used by all citizens. These items can also be used for combat or recreational use. Artifact Mages are often called Item Mages until they create their own artifact. Artifact Mages can make most anything given enough experience.

Illusion Mages

Illusion Mages use their magic to affect the air around them or their opponents sense to create illusions. Their magic cannot directly harm the opponent, and if the illusion successfully attacks the opponent they will likely realize it is an illusion. This is why illusion magic is often used to distract opponents. Illusion Magic is almost entirely support unless the mage can trick the opponent into believing they are in the real world.

Anti-Magic Mages

Anti-Magic Spells were created near the same time as magic was used as a weapon. It would be expected that someone would come up with the idea to remove anothers magic. These mages specialize in the ability to nullify their enemies magic to make them the same as common soldiers. This can completely disarm mages who rely only on magic and lack physical fighting skills. Users of Anti-Magic must relinquish their own magic first and cannot learn any other type of magic.

High Level Magics

High Level Magics are magic that can only be learned and controlled by mages of at least A-rank rank. Though most high level magic involves one spell, that one spell is so powerful that it takes major effort to master that one spell. High Level Magics count as a class, and can be a secondary a class.

Lost Magics

Lost Magics are magics that are often called the power of kings. Lost Magics originated near the creation of magic and mages. Most Lost Magic have legends and myths created because of their power. Users of Lost Magic are rare because knowledge of them are almost non-existent, but they are steadily becoming mainstream once again. Lost Magic was lost either because the last known user died or they were removed from practice due to their power or side-effects by Magic Councils of the past. Practitioners of Lost Magic may only wield one type of Lost Magic and some types of Lost Magic users may use no other forms of magic.
